RADETZKY MARCH (JOHANN STRAUSS SenIOR)

About

I am not into marching band music at all, but I like this piece of Johann Strauss Senior. It is rather light-hearted and does not have this „martial“ character. Years ago, it used to be part of my January 01 routine to watch the New Year's Concert of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra on TV. This is traditionally the final part of the show, when the conductor tries to be funny. I wanted to google some background info of the tune and stumbled into Colin Tribe’s video of this. Before, I never thought this would work with the Ukulele. Well, honestly it really doesn’t give justice to the opus - but it is fun to play anyway.
