The BARE NECESSITIES (Gylkison)

About

From the Jungle Book, my favourite childhood movie. And still in my Top Twenty. Taught me invaluable lessons on the negative female impact on male friendship. The title is a nice pun. Groovy, light hearted spirit. A fantastic tune, written by Terry Gylkison.

Original Key

quote Baloo:  “when you find out you can live without it, go along not thinking about it”

Tab Notes

In line with the message of the song, I tried to arrange this as simple as possible. I quite like the  basslines I put in, in order to not make it too boring for the ambitious player. As the notation is basic as usual, add some filler notes, slurs and slides where you find it appropriate to liven the whole thing up. In the first bar in line 6, I cheat with the F.  It is much easier to just barre on the third fret (index finger) and play the melody notes with the third and pinky. You can of course use a full F chord (C scheme in fifth position) here, but that is too much of an effort, Baloo would say.
