Das LOCH IN DER BANANE (KLAUS WEILAND)

About

Beautifully flowing instrumental with a stupid title („hole in the banana“). Written by Klaus Weiland, a German folk guitar player. This tune became regionally quite famous in our little country in the old days of TV. Back then, not every single minute between movies or shows was crammed with commercials. This piece was the soundtrack for the technical breaks, played over the background of landscape stills or animated movies. The seniors among us will remember.

Original Key

D

Tuning

Open D  [ D A D f# a d ]

Tab Notes

The original recording includes quite a lot of improvisation and variations, so I have just tabbed the intro and the two main themes  [ A ] and [ B ]. The rhythmic pattern at the end of the second part is somehow tricky, but if you know the tune, you will get along easily. If not, count it out very slowly and you will develop a feeling for it.
