Mamma Mia (Abba)

About

Great Songwriters, the B's of ABBA. They have a outstanding sense for creating unique and catchy melodies. Will not be the last one of their work on this site, hopefully.

Trivia

In January 1976, „Mamma Mia" replaced "Bohemian Rhapsody" at the number 1 position in the UK Singles Chart. This is remarkable, since in Queen’s mini-opera Freddie Mercury sings “Oh Mamma Mia let me go“.  As you wish, Freddie !

Original Key

D

Tuning

Regular gCEA (also works with low G)

Tab Notes

Most of the lead part can be played out of the chord position. The intro / outro is a little tricky as the high melody note changes on the 4+ beat (not on the 1, as you would expect), but once you are used to it, that will be no problem. During the verse [A] the chord change G / G+ is regular. The red notes in the first line are the fills, they are not part of the sung melody.

P.S. The initial tab sheet contained two absolutely wrong notes. Sorry for that. v2 should be correct.
