Not a standard jazz-type walking bass, but nonetheless very busy on the lower string section:

A nicely swinging doo-wop classic, on the setlist of many fingerpickers

Walking Bass Feature #1
As you might have found out by now, I am a great fan of melodic fingerstyle. Concentrating on the main theme of a song is what comes first for me. However, in the low end, that same old alternating root note / fifth gets a little boring now and then. That is why I thought of posting a little series of tunes with slightly more interesting bass figures over the coming weeks. Let's start with a simpler tune containing only a "homeopathic" dose of walking bass:
Also nice on Ukulele:
Coming up next are, among two ore three others:
- Blue Moon
- In the Mood
Also check out some older posts:

New Star Wars movie coming to the cinemas. Not that I would care much, but a nice occasion to post this one.

- Crying in the Rain
- Dimming of the Day
- Hit the Road, Jack
- How Deep is your Love
- Take Five
- Time after Time
- You are the Sunshine of my Life
Since Christmas is approaching rapidly, I will try to finalize some requests in the next days.

Here comes second and last series of the "Turnaround Tunes". Isn't it just amazing what you can do with four chords only ?
October 9, 2015
Saw "Grease" recently again and remembered that song, which I started tabbing a long time ago and then just forgot. Immediately took it up again.
October 5, 2015
This time I thought of starting a little sequel of songs which I call „Turnaround Tunes“. Those songs are based on a repeating chord progression (also called „vamp“ or -more sophisticated-„harmonic ostinato“) which is continued throughout a song. Maybe the most popular turnaround is I-VIm-IV-V.
In Fmajor, the key chosen for this series of songs, this would be F-Dm-Bb-C
I find it really interesting to see how many wonderful melodies are based on this simple pattern (or slight variations of it):

July 31, 2015
Will take a brief ukulele break over the next two weeks or so. I have really neglected "the other" instrument recently. And there are so many wonderful six string-tunes in the pipeline.

A not so well-known tune by Ryan Sheridan. Well, at least my neighbors know it. I strum it all day.

If you wonder about some files with the extension "v2": I just reworked some sheets, either correcting some minor mistakes or harmonization of tab layout. Particularly some of the earlier guitar tabs need refurbishing. Ongoing.
