Alabama Song (Brecht / Weill)

Written by Kurt Weill / Berthold Brecht in 1928 for the opera „The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny“. Made famous in the cover version of the Doors (and David Bowie).

Original Key

A minor

Low G

Tab Notes

I took some great liberties with this arrangement. In the original version, the accompaniment is a chromatic nightmare, which doesn’t really support the melody line. So, expecting the shitstorm of the Jim Morrison legacy sustainers, here is a banalized and butchered fingerstyle version of it.
