SOLSBURY HILL (PETER GABRIEL)

About

Peter Gabriel’s solo debut single. The structure of the song reminds me of the old blues principle of question and response - the significant and catchy riff followed by the melody phrase. Odd 7/4 measure throughout, except for the last two bars, before the intro is repeated.

Original Key

B major (with Capo on IV you can play along)

Tuning

Regular

Tab Notes

Sometimes the melody starts with the final note of the riff, so let the lower strings ring when the vocal line starts in. Same for the last note of the verse, which rings into the intro.
