About
A beautiful religious folk hymn (descent unknown) that became popular to a wider audience in 2000 when it was included in the soundtrack of „O Brother, Where Art Thou?“ by the Noel and Ethan Coen. Superb script and George Clooney in one of his best performances. It is really „in the River“, not „to the River“, for reasons I do not fully understand. Must have something to do with baptist rituals I am not familiar with. Beautifully sang by Alison Krauss.
Original Key
No idea
Tuning
Regular gCEA (works well in low G)
Tab Notes
Played very solemnly.Between the verse [A] and the chorus [B] the time signature changes briefly to 2/4 (just for a break) and immediately back to 4/4 again. Just the basic stuff tabbed, lots of room for your own interpretation.
PS: Fixed a minor mistake and exchanged the pdf file. v2 should be accurate.
