SMOKE GETS IN YOUR EYES (THE PLATTERS)

About

Ultimative schmaltz, made famous by The Platters in 1958.

By the way the song title is part of the translation of a Russian proverb, “When your heart’s on fire, smoke gets in your eyes”.
Very true.

Original Key

Eb

Tuning

Low G

Tab Notes

Light triplet feel and really slow. Some tricky bits:

- There is no way to let ring the B° (or Bdim7) chord, just slightly strum and release.

- The Dbmaj7 in the beginning of part [ B ] is  easier to play with the lower strings barred using the second finger.

Just make sure to not mute the e-string.
