TEDDY BEAR's PICNIC (J.W. BRATTON)

About

What a nice tune. I have lots of fun playing this. Before I have received a request for that one,

I did not even know the song. And I still do not know the original. I just found some very nice versions done by other fingerstylers.

This arrangement of mine is tabbed with the help of a piano score. I have significantly simplified it in the main parts.

Tab Notes

For a children song, this is quite tough in this up-tempo two-step rhythm. I wrote it down in 6/8 time signature, just to avoid having to use triplets all over the song.

Three Parts

A - Main Theme. During this part, some play the fourth of the root note in the bass. I prefer a standard fifth.

B - Theme 2. A variation of the second half of part A. Dramatic ending with some queer sounding harmony moves.

C - Bridge / Trio. A little calmer, but kind of tricky starting from the last two lines. In particular the chromatically ascending bass asks for some quick fingering.
