ONE OF US (JOAN OSBORNE)

About

Written by the „Hooter“ Eric Bazilian (as I said before, one of my favourite songwriters) and beautifully performed by Joan Osborne. Unfortunately her only big success.

Original Key

F#minor (Em with Capo on II)

Tuning

Dropped D (DADghe)

Tab Notes

Starts off with a „yodel“ variation of the American folk hymn „Heavenly Aeroplane“ [ A ], sung by Nell Hampton. The intro hookline [ B ] is the same as the chorus, just a simple Em-C-G-D turnaround repeated, which is also used in the verse [ C ]. Part [ D ] is the bridge linking verse and chorus. Once you have the basic turnaround in your fingers, this is perfect for adding embellishments and variations.
