Hit the Road Jack (Ray Charles)

About

What'd I say ? A genius. Even though this song is closely linked to Ray Charles, it is not written by the the maestro himself. Credits go to Percy Mayfield.

Original Key

Don't know

Tuning

Regular.

Tab Notes

The chord progression (also known as the "andalusian cadence") continues throughout. That is the easy part. To hit the high notes, sometimes the root bass needs to be played one octave up. Tricky at first is that the melody sometimes uses notes that are not part of the basic chords (d in Am, a in G, etc.). Rhythm: No straight eights, no real shuffle, but a light "bouncing" beat.
